Much more than 1001 nights have passed since we opened the doors for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics in Saudi Arabia, but the tales go on and new adventures are created every day. I vividly remember one of the first days when we were only two employees in the company and I was approached, in Arabic, by a local customs broker who wanted me to endorse a Bill of Lading. Half an hour, and a lot of sign language later, our first client left the office and we were in business!

After a couple of difficult years of establishing our foothold, we have now grown to become the strong entity we all envisioned from the beginning. I am very proud to see every single member of the Hellmann family contributing to our success as we continuously outgrow all competitors in a difficult market troubled by low oil prices and general economic downturn. Since opening our Headquarters in Jeddah, with two employees we have expanded our footprint and now employ over 125 colleague spread across seven locations. We have established Hellmann with a solid reputation in freight forwarding as well as Contract Logistics and we are recognized as a multi-faceted forwarder and an industry leader in verticals such as Healthcare and FMCG. When we established Hellmann in Saudi Arabia, it was with almost no sales intelligence and the best leads we had on hand were from a few network import shipments on CIF basis. We started from zero and one of our first priorities was to build our database. The first few years were challenging but being a German company gave us a leap of faith in terms of reliability and high quality. Above, we greatly profited from Hellmann’s network and history in the beginning. Over the years, we have then grown both our sales force and client base so we are now a well-known brand in the Kingdom which means we do no longer have to spend much time on groundwork and cold calls, instead we can focus on targeting the right type of customer with the right solution.
